The flyer was stopped before he could enter the cockpit and was handed over to the authorities upon landing in Varanasi. The passenger claimed he was looking for the lavatory when he tried to open the cockpit door.

Varanasi: An Air India Express flight from Bengaluru to Varanasi witnessed a midair scare when a passenger allegedly attempted to open the cockpit door, mistaking it for the lavatory, according to an airline spokesperson.
The airline staff stopped the flyer from entering the cockpit and turned him over to authorities once the flight reached Varanasi, ANI said
What Happened Onboard
Flight IX-1086 departed Bengaluru shortly after 8 am. During the journey, a male passenger approached the cockpit and attempted to open the locked door. The cockpit, secured with a passcode system, denied entry, and the crew promptly directed the man back to his seat.
Although the reason for his action remains unclear, the airline said the situation was handled without compromising safety.
Separate Incident: Emergency Landing in Visakhapatnam
In another case last week, an Air India Express flight bound for Hyderabad was forced to make an emergency landing at Visakhapatnam Airport after a suspected bird strike. Flight IX-2658, which took off on Thursday, returned shortly after take-off when the pilot reported an engine issue.
Airport director N. Purushottam said the aircraft landed safely and all passengers were deboarded. The airline later arranged alternative travel for those affected.
