Represented by senior advocate Jethmalani, Karisma Kapoor’s children told the Delhi High Court that documents are being concealed and assets are at risk, opposing requests for confidentiality.

New Delhi:
The property dispute between Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, late businessman Sunjay Kapur, and concerned parties has taken a significant turn in the Delhi High Court, with debates arising over the extent of confidentiality needed for handling key documents in the case.

According to ANI, senior advocate Rajiv Nayar, representing Priya Kapur, urged the court to maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive documents. He noted that while the case is a partition suit, it has drawn significant public attention, and proposed setting up a mechanism to prevent sensitive information from entering the public domain.

On the other hand, senior advocate Jethmalani, representing Karisma Kapoor’s children, opposed the plea for confidentiality. He questioned the validity of the trust and will in question, alleging that Priya Kapur’s side was attempting to conceal crucial documents at the last moment.

Jethmalani contended that, as rightful heirs, his clients have the right to full disclosure of the assets. He described the confidentiality request as a tactic to delay proceedings or diminish the estate. “My client is an inheritor. We must know what has been left out,” he said, dismissing the confidentiality plea as a “cloak to fritter away the assets.”

Delhi High Court Orders Measures to Protect Sensitive Estate Details

After hearing arguments from both sides, the Delhi High Court permitted Priya Kapur Sachdev to submit the list of assets in a sealed cover to safeguard sensitive information. Both parties assured the court that the details would not be disclosed to the media.

The court also directed that a copy of the late Sunjay Kapur’s will be provided to his mother, Rani Kapur, ensuring she remains informed about the estate proceedings. To maintain confidentiality, the documents will be kept under the custody of the Registrar General of the Delhi High Court.
