Uber Driver’s Candid Message After Cancelling Ride Goes Viral on Reddit

When a Reddit user from Borivali, Mumbai, booked an Uber to Hiranandani, they expected the usual cab drama. Instead, the driver politely declined the ride and sent a thoughtful apology.

This simple act of courtesy touched many online, sparking heartfelt conversations about empathy and integrity in everyday life.

In a post on the r/indiasocial subreddit, a user shared a screenshot of the driver’s message, captioned: “The most polite and detailed cancellation I’ve ever received on an Uber ride.”

Sunil decided to cancel the ride because the journey from Borivali to Hiranandani would take nearly two hours. With the fare showing only Rs 250, he was concerned it wouldn’t be worth his time or effort

His message to the passenger read:“Sorry sir, the app is showing only Rs 250 as the fare for the trip to Hiranandani, and it will take about 1.5 hours to get there. I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to accept the ride.”

In the comments, social media users expressed how moved they were by Sunil’s honesty. Many left warm wishes and praised his kindness.“He’s genuinely a good person. I love people like this—it makes me want to bless him,” one user remarked.

Many emphasized the importance of making such honesty a common practice among cab drivers. One user commented, “I absolutely respect people like this. Just clearly and politely communicating any issues saves time and earns appreciation from the passenger

Another user even offered to pay double the fare if they received a message like this, saying, “I would have gladly paid double after reading his message. Genuine people deserve all the happiness in the world. His mother truly raised a gentleman.”
