Shilpa Shetty The actress, through her legal team, dismissed the decade-old payment allegations as “false and defamatory.”

Shilpa Shetty Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty recently made headlines after reports alleged that she received ₹15 crore from her husband, Raj Kundra, around a decade ago in connection with a probe by Mumbai’s Economic Offences Wing. However, her legal team has firmly rejected these allegations.

In an official statement, Shilpa Shetty’s lawyer said, “At the outset, we wish to clarify that this information is completely false and has been deliberately spread to tarnish my client’s reputation. We will pursue legal action, including criminal proceedings and claims for civil damages, against all parties responsible for publishing these defamatory reports.”

Moving to protect legal rights

The lawyer added that the actress is now seeking legal protection from law enforcement agencies against these defamatory actions. “By intentionally defaming my client, Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra, certain individuals have left us with no choice but to seek the protection of law enforcement agencies,” the statement read.

While reiterating that Shetty has always cooperated — and will continue to cooperate — with investigating authorities, the statement warned that defamatory reporting will not be tolerated. “We have always cooperated fully with investigation agencies and will continue to do so. However, defamatory articles and news pieces will be addressed firmly under the law, as they infringe upon my client’s fundamental rights.”

Action in the Bombay High Court

Her legal team also revealed that they are approaching the Bombay High Court to seek relief against what they described as a “defamatory campaign” by certain media outlets. “We are moving the Honourable Bombay High Court to seek justice against this malicious campaign. Any individual or organisation that has published fake stories and unverified facts will be held accountable in a court of law,” the statement concluded.
